The Jackets & Bombers stole the Alexandre Cauthier show at Paris Fashion Week. The collection showcased designs with strong shoulders, cut-outs, and even ruched tulle detailing in his intimate designs. All proving to be very technical, the designer mixed and matched many textures with fabric detailing but in the end was very wearable for couture.
Oh the details, we love the details!!!! Zuhair Murads turned heads in his Fall 2013 Couture collection, “Enchanted Forest.” A feminine collection full of embroidered nude tulle dresses w/ pops of jewel tones and stunning hour glass shapes…showing “just enough” skin to keep you mesmerized.
Quite the collection from Maison Martin Margiela, proven to be not only a collector in his showcase but a creator of pieces from other times and places! An interesting sourcing on materials: (1) Tulle & cotton coat cut from a 1950’s prom dressed found in New York & Hemmed w/ fabric from L.A, London, Paris, and Brussels. (2) A sequined dress from the 1950’s found in Phoenix. (3) Sequined costumes from the Beijing Opera in the 1930’s (4) Art Nouveau curtains in silk tulle – As the models walked with their heads encased in masks all of the pieces were given a new life for a modern era.
A Journey from “Old World” to “New World” was revealed at Chanel's Fall Couture collection which showed in Paris’ Grand Palais. The collection was toughened up with boxy tweed suiting accessorized by dropped waist-lines, wide slung belts, sequined mini’s, and suede stocking boots! We can’t wait to get our hands on next season’s version of the knuckle ring… loving the hand candy!
