Hello magnificent Muse Diary readers,
Hope you all enjoyed the last health post and took one minute to honor your bodies. How did it feel?
This week I will share with you a little move you can do absolutely anywhere! It targets the obliques (that lovely area on the side of your waist) and all you have to do is crunch to the side!
There are a few key things to remember:
- It’s not about using momentum, but about actually making a conscious effort to use the oblique for the crunch. Really squeeze it together to bring your ribs down and to the side, with a slight release on the way up.
- The more reps the more efficient, but just doing a few will do your body good.
- Add weight! We use our weighted U bar, either the 4 or 8 lb. I also do this when I’m sitting in traffic, cranky, cursing and need to do something so I feel like I’m in control. Naturally an oblique crunch does the trick!
- Use a hand weight. Use a water bottle. Use your purse! We all know we stock those things to the max, let’s make it beneficial. Try this and start to feel the sides whittle and tone.
Happy healthy toning MUSE-ers
